NOTD: Fimo 3D Fruit Nails

Hey cuties! I recently bought these little fimo nail art fruits at Sally's Beauty Supply, and I just had to get them because I thought they were so cute and perfect for summer. I know Cute Polish on youtube filmed a Fimo Fruit Nail Art Tutorial and that's where I originally got this idea. I'm addicted to her videos because she makes the best nail art tutorials that are a lot easier than they seem. Whenever I wear her designs, I always get tons of compliments. Anyway, I've been wanted to try this for a while and I documented my experience so I could share it with you guys! Let me know if you've ever tried fimo nail art.

This little kit came with a lot of fruits like strawberries, watermelon, apples, but also some rare fruits like star and dragon fruit. Also, there is a little toothpick-like thing to help you put the furits on if you don't have tweezers. (I really suggest using tweezers)

Gradients get a little messy ^_^

First of all, I applied a base coat and made this ombre-is, gradient effect with a few different colors. To learn about the technique I used, I made a Gradient Tutorial a while back, or you can just watch Cute Polish's video (honestly, it's a lot more helpful than my descriptions). I didn't want to do all my nails at one time because I was outside and I was scared everything was going to blow away.

Then I applied a light glitter polish and stuck on the fruits while it was still wet, let it dry, and then pack a ton of clear polish to seal these bad boys in. I'm not sure how stable they are because I have yet to work out with them but I have cooked dinner and wrote this post and they're still hanging on. Lets hope this continues! XD

NOTD- Peachy Keen

Hello everyone! I went to Sally's yesterday and I got a discount on some new nail polishes. This is actually my first China Glaze polish I tried. My collection mostly consists of Sinful Colors polishes but they aren't the best quality because they're so cheap. Anyway, I wanted to try out some different brands and get some new summer colors.

I was going to do some fancy nail art again, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything. This color is just so fun and I think it will look fantastic on darker skin tones. Stay tuned for more NOTD's because I got another China Glaze polish and an Essie one. See you next time! XD

NOTD- Another Gradient

 Hello everyone! Long time no nail post. Lately, I just have not been doing my nails. It's just been a plain, coral color polish for the past three weeks. So yesterday, I wanted something fun and bold. The only polishes I have at the moment were nudes and glitter polishes. So I used a slightly glittery nude polish underneath, and used a chunky gold glitter polish to make this gradient effect. You can do this by just dabbing a blob of nail polish with a makeup sponge, a bundled up ball of saran wrap, or a q-tip.

You guys will have to excuse my gross cuticles, it's still pretty cold here and it's not kind to my hands.

This did get a little messy and I had a lot of glitter on the side of my fingers, but that's not something I care about. See you next time! XD

NOTD- Bird's Eye View + Tutorial

Following the new black and white trend, I thought I would make up a cute nail design for you guys. This image sort of popped into my head but I couldn't find it anywhere online, so I guess I was the only one. This is my second original nail design (the first one is here), but this one is a lot more complicated. The steps are pretty simple and can be done a few ways, you choose which one is best for you. I suggest that you just take your time and it'll turn out just fine. XD

1. Place a piece of tape around your nails at the tips, make sure there isn't any gaps. Then you want to paint the ends of your nails white. The tape will make a sharp, straight edge. This is actually how I do french tips. It requires no skill whatsoever!

-There are French tip stickers out there that you can buy if you want a more natural, curved tip.

-You can also use a white striper if you have one.

When the polish dries, slowly take the tape off and it should turn out like this.

2. Take another strip of tape and cut it into thirds lengthwise. Then place two of the strips close to each other, leaving a tiny gap in the middle. Paint that part black. You might want to avoid putting tape on the white tip, I found out that the tape lifts it off your nail.

-If you have a black striper, you can use that to save you some time.

-If you don't own a striper, you can make one by wiping off the polish from the brush and cutting it until you get a small strip of tightly packed bristles. Just dip it back into the bottle and you're good to go.

After it dries, slowly take off the tape, again. If there are some blank spaces, just take a toothpick, dip it in the black polish, and fill it in.

Do this to all your nails, making the black line generally in the same place.

3. Take a toothpick, dip it in the black polish, and draw on some birds. I found that if you use a dabbing motion, you can get the best color payoff. Just take your time and have fun with it!

4. Wait for it to dry completely and seal it all in with a clear topcoat. Then you're all done!

I did a few different bird designs for you guys. The normal one, a Mamma and Baby bird, love birds, and a sparrow. You can always look up birds sitting on a wire if you want more references.

This was the first day I wore this and I've already been getting compliments. If any of you try this, tell me how it turned out. See you next time!

Spring NOTD and a Little Bit More

Hey guys! Bubzbeauty on youtube made another nail tutorial again, it's her Perfect Spring Nails video where she teaches how to make daisies on your nails. It's super cute and I thought I would give it a try and show you guys how it turned out.

 I found out that I didn't have my white nail polish at my mom's, so my flowers are pink instead. I didn't use a blue nail polish for the background because I didn't want to crowd my nails with a mountain of polish.

The grass is a little messed up because there were no toothpicks to be found anywhere in my house so I used a bamboo skewer. 

This really is perfect for spring and I'm so excited for it to come! Even though it's still cold and snowy where I live, this makes me feel like spring is here.

Now onto the other stuff!

Milo was being extra cute today. He usually moves too much to get a picture.
