Hello everyone! There are some products that I'm always interested in trying, and one of them is BB cream. While looking through my collection, I noticed that I had 5 different BB cream! Do I need 5 open at one time? No, but I'm addicted to makeup and I have a problem. But since I have so many, I thought I would round them up and talk about them!
Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream No. 21- This is probably the most basic BB cream out of my collection. This would probably suit all skin types and they have the best color selection. It doesn't accent dry patches and the oil control is decent, but nothing amazingly fantastic. The finish is more on the satin/dewy side, somewhere in between there. It does have a stong scent to it so if you're skin doesn't handle scents, then skip this one. The only down sides are that it comes out a little grey and it just doesn't stand out in my collection. I like it and I use it, but nothing life changing.
Étude House Preecious Mineral BB Cream W13- If you have dry skin or that dewy-skinned look, then this is the one for you. I really like this one in the summer because it gives a glowing from within look. The oil control isn't the greatest but with blotting sheets, it holds up pretty well. It's hydrating and blends into the skin nicely that looks very natural. The color selection isn't great (they have 4 shades) but it's better than one shade like some brands.
Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream No. 1- You guys, I'm obsessed with this BB cream. This is a water-based, jelly like BB cream that literally feels like you have nothing on your skin. It's lighter coverage but you can do two layers if you need it without getting cakey. It holds up on my oily skin pretty well throughout the day. I just love it. Out of all of these, this is definitely my favorite. But, it only comes in two shades and the packaging is not so great for traveling.
Holika Holika Petit Tea Tree Clearing BB Cream- This is a close #2 behind the Aqua Petit. What I love about this is the oil control, it's great! It only comes in one shade. :( But if the color works for you and you're oily, then definitely get this! It's cheap, has light-medium coverage, and it has tea tree oil to add in some skin care benefits.
Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream Light/Medium- This is the only Western BB cream I own, mostly because they suck. (Sorry, but it's true). This BB cream is very light coverage but it feels very light on the skin and this particular one has salysilic acid to help clear breakouts. I feel like it does something to help my skin instead of just moisturize. It's nothing like my Asian BB creams but it still is a good base to have on more natural days or when your skin is having some trouble. Just add some concealer and you'll be just fine!
The reason why I have a lot of different shades is because I use them throughout the year and some are my summer BB creams and some are for winter/fall. Just in case you were wondering. ;D But Holika Holika BB creams are where it's at! In my opinion, anyway. Let me know what your HG BB cream is so I can try it out! See you next time! XD
Oh boy, your 5 BB creams can't possibly compete with my monstrous collection. I can't even ballpark how many I have stashed in my makeup drawer. I've got a REAL problem. :P
ReplyDeleteI've used the Missha one and quite liked it except that it's way too grey! I think I'd use it more often if only it didn't make me look like a zombie. The Etude House Precious Mineral one was the second BB cream I ever tried and I liked it except for the lack of oil control and it didn't stay on my face for very long.
The Holika Holika Jelly BB is one that I've always wanted to try. I think more than likely I'll end up buying one while I'm in Korea later this year. But I did recently order the Tea Tree Clearing one, so I hope it works out for me!
I like that you did a breakdown of your BB creams. :D
Yes! It's so grey. He fully the Tea Tree Clearing BB cream works for you! And thanks! :D
DeleteIt's been so long since I've used BB creams!haa..this post kinda reminds me when the Korea BB creams became massively popular! I still haven't try the Jelly Petit yet but they changed a new packaging right? But the shape is still the same so I don't think they make much changes anyway..

You should! It's a good one.
DeleteYayy BB Cream reviews. I need to change my BB Cream I think, my Garnier on is too dark. I have a weird tone of asian skin, not pale like typical asians but not tanned like typical caucasians, I'm still yellow, that a tinge of green.. oh my :/ Anyway, thanks for this useful review!! And also thanks for popping by on my blog and commenting, always returning the support <3

Haha, I have a wonky skin tone, too, so I know your pain. ;D I'm light but with a very yellow undertone. Most of the lighter foundation shades are pink toned. And your welcome! XD
Deletethis is like a bb greatest hits post! love it!
ReplyDeletethese are all on my list of either 'to try' or 'tried'! i tried the moisture petit bb but the color was so light for me i coudln't really get into it even though it worked really well. as for the jelly bb cream, its also a bit light so it stops me from wearing it too oftne. im going to try and wear it more often in the dead of winter ahahaha hopefully my skin is light enough then.

A Beautiful Zen
Yeah, it is! It's a bummer that most bb creams don't have a variety of shades. :( but you can always try mixing it! :D
