Product Review: Etude House Pomegranate Mask

Hello face mask lovers! It's been about a week since I posted something. Sorry about that, I took a break to rejuvenate creative juices and to save up some money for future product reviews. You guys know what it's like. If I don't get a break every once in a while, you readers don't get the best reviews. No one wants to waist their time on reading a crappy review. Am I right?

Anyway, I got some face masks from Etude House a while back but I'm saving them for back-to school-stress relief. Since I have very little self control, I had to use one. But you're here for a review and to see me in an almost serial killer looking mask, let's stop blabbering and get started!

The back says that it's a "Essence mask contains pomegranate additives that nourish for a healthy complexion." To me, this says that it's supposed to be a basic sheet mask that isn't for anything in particular except nourishing and hydrating your skin when you feel like pampering yourself.

For most sheet masks, you are suppose to keep it on for at least 20 minutes. I know a lot of people who keep them on for a lot longer than that. I kept mine on for about an hour and a half.

As for the serum, it really did moisturize my skin without it being heavy. My skin wasn't greasy afterwords but it was a tiny bit sticky, but nothing uncomfortable. After a while, it went away and I was left with hydrated skin.
The mask fit my face nicely. There was no extra parts that were loose like some masks do. Wearing it was very comfortable except that the eye holes were too small for my bug eyes and the nose part barely fit my nose.

Sheet masks are usually really cheap, and this one was no exception. I'm not sure how much one mask is because I got this in a set. And since Etude House stores are half way across the Earth from where I live, I had to buy this online and pay for shipping.

Pros
-Hydrating
-Cheap
-Fits nicely

Cons
-Not available in US
-Tiny bit sticky

Would I buy this again? Probably not this one since it only nourishes my skin and doesn't do anything specific like help even out my skin tone or anything like that. But I did like the moisturizing effect and the mask, but I would like a little more. Honestly, there's not a lot to say about this mask. The packaging is adorable, though.

Product Review: The Face Shop Real Nature Cucumber Mask

Hey cuties! This is my first non-clay mask review. I've tried a ton of other masks besides clay ones but I never reviewed them. But, since I know a lot of you guys love Korean brands, I thought I would share my thoughts on The Face Shop's Real Nature Cucumber mask.

The description on the back says, "A hydrating/vitalizing mask sheet containing cucumber extract to fill puffy and lackluster skin with cool hydrating minerals". As I was using it, there was a cooling sensation that felt really nice and refreshing. It's great if you live someplace that has a lot of humidity because it gets rid of that muggy feeling in the air.

What I love about this is that it's really hydrating for something that doesn't cost a lot of money. The serum works better than the hyrdrating masks I've used. But since I haven't tried a lot of sheet masks, I don't know how it compares to other brands. My skin did look livlier and more refreshed which I was really impressed by because it only has one use.

As for the mask itself, it was huge. It was falling off my face and I had to keep adjusting it. After a half an hour, it kind of got annoying.

I got this mask in a set of three in The Face Shop's Real Nature mask line off of Amazon for about $4 without shipping. Products from Korea always take about three weeks for it to arrive. I knew that going into it, but it's still an inconvenient.

Pros
-Cooling
-Hydrating
-Cheap
-Refreshing

Cons
-Not available in US
-Mask was too big

Would I buy it again? Yeah, especially now because it's super humid where I live, but I would like to try some other brands first. I got some more coming soon so there might be some more reviews. If you guys have any suggestions for more sheet masks I should try, leave a comment and I'll check it out! See you next time! XD

Product Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous

Hey cuties! I've never been one to wear anything other than lipbalm on my lips, but something came over me and I bought this Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in probably the brightest color they have, Rendezvous. It's this orange-ish, coral color that screamed summer. There is a lot of hype around this product and heard a lot of beauty gurus on youtube talk about it.

The packaging in this product is kind of interesting because it's not like other lipsticks. It comes with this plastic tube and the tip of the bullet is sort of cone-shaped which makes it easy to apply onto your lips. It's longer than a lipstick so it's not as convenient to shove in your push, but not by much.

I love the formula of this lipstain because it's slightly moisturizing, light, and it doesn't settle into the lines in your lips. You can either apply a small amount for a hint of color or build it up to get full vibrancy. You don't necessarily need a lip balm along with this, but I find that adding one makes it creamier. But it does have a minty scent, so if you're allergic to perfumes in makeup, then it's something to be aware of. I actually like the smell, so it's not a problem for me.

This picture doesn't really give this product justice because it's a lot more vibrant in real life. Though I like to have a light hand on anything that's very pigmented, the color is a lot more orange like you just got done eating a popsicle.

The lasting power for this product is amazing for something at the drugstore. I found that it lasts about 8+ hours and the swatch on my hand stayed there until later on the next day. The color fades very tastefully and sometimes looks even better than when you first applied it. I love how it lasts even when I eat, drink, and go throughout my day.

This line is very hyped about, but I find that this is the only shade that might go with my skin tone. I feel like it's more aimed toward the warmer tones, and that's not me. ;) But if they ever come out with more, I'll look into buying some.

Pros
-Long lasting
-Build able color
-Smells like mint
-Slightly moisturizing
-Doesn't settle into cracks
-Fads nicely

Cons
-Wish they had more colors

So what do you guys think? Are you a lippy person? I went to the store and got another lip product yesterday and I'm contemplating on whether or not I should get another one today. Maybe I'm turning into a lipstick addict? I don't know, I see a lot of people with a wide range of colors and I felt a little behind. (I didn't have any at the moment, only lipbalm). Well, it's a working progress. But you can count on another lipstick review soon, that's for sure. See you guys next time! XD

Product Review: L'oreal Power Moisture Rush Mask

Hey cuties! Is it just me, or does anyone else love anything that's a mask? I've tried a lot of face masks but I've never done a hair mask. Since it's summer and I have some extra time on my hands, I've been a little mean to my hair with heat styling and whatnot. I was hoping that this new hair mask by L'oreal would help bring some life back into my hair.

The product itself comes in this tub, which I'm not a fan of because I have to dig my fingers in there to get the product out. But it seems that most hair masks have this kind of packaging so it's not really a problem. I think we all would be thankful if most products came with a pump. :)

I used this about twice a week by adding it to my wet hair, putting it back in a bun, and waiting for a while. It never was a set time frame because I would go off and do other things, but I would say it was about a half an hour.

To be totally honest, it didn't do a whole lot for my hair. Was it moisturizing? Yeah, but it could be better. It didn't weigh my hair down or leave it looking greasy after I rinsed it out. What surprised me about this product is that it made my hair shiny. My hair is not the kind that will get shiny because it's already really light as it is. So if there is a shine, it's not really noticeable.

Pros
-Affordable
-Made my hair shiny
-Does not weigh down hair
-Not greasy

Cons
-Not really effective
-Not a fan of packaging

Overall, it's a pretty decent product for it's price. It's the kind of product that will make a small different to you, but it won't make your friends of family notice. I don't know, not a lot of hair products work amazing on my hair, so it might work differently if you try it out for yourself. I guess I just have stubborn hair. XD Let me know some if you have any other hair masks I should try or if you've tried this one. I would love to hear your thoughts! ^-^

NOTD: Fimo 3D Fruit Nails

Hey cuties! I recently bought these little fimo nail art fruits at Sally's Beauty Supply, and I just had to get them because I thought they were so cute and perfect for summer. I know Cute Polish on youtube filmed a Fimo Fruit Nail Art Tutorial and that's where I originally got this idea. I'm addicted to her videos because she makes the best nail art tutorials that are a lot easier than they seem. Whenever I wear her designs, I always get tons of compliments. Anyway, I've been wanted to try this for a while and I documented my experience so I could share it with you guys! Let me know if you've ever tried fimo nail art.

This little kit came with a lot of fruits like strawberries, watermelon, apples, but also some rare fruits like star and dragon fruit. Also, there is a little toothpick-like thing to help you put the furits on if you don't have tweezers. (I really suggest using tweezers)

Gradients get a little messy ^_^
First of all, I applied a base coat and made this ombre-is, gradient effect with a few different colors. To learn about the technique I used, I made a Gradient Tutorial a while back, or you can just watch Cute Polish's video (honestly, it's a lot more helpful than my descriptions). I didn't want to do all my nails at one time because I was outside and I was scared everything was going to blow away.

Then I applied a light glitter polish and stuck on the fruits while it was still wet, let it dry, and then pack a ton of clear polish to seal these bad boys in. I'm not sure how stable they are because I have yet to work out with them but I have cooked dinner and wrote this post and they're still hanging on. Lets hope this continues! XD

Easy Tutorial: CL 2ne1 Inspired Hair

Hey cuties! Today I have my first hair tutorial and it's something I've been doing a lot lately. It's inspired by CL in her music video for "The Baddest Female". My sister said that she liked this hairstyle and that I should shave my head to keep it forever. I'm not going to do that because I don't have the guts but it's the thought that counts. Anyway, this is actually really easy and quick. You guys are going to have to excuse my translucent eyebrows for a little bit longer, I'm currently trying to learn how to fill them in without looking really fake since I have really blonde hair. Plus, the lighting kinda washed out all the color I put into them. :( Does anyone have any tips for me?

source

Step 1: Separate your hair into two parts. Since my hair is really fine I only need to put up the hair on the crown of my head but anyone else might want to go by the top of your ears. Then spray some heat protectant, I'm using the Aussie Hair Insurance.

Step 2: Curl your hair. I like to keep the strands in these Little Bo Peep style ringlets when they cool because I found that it makes even curls. Then spray it with some hairspray.

Step 3: Let down the second layer and curl that the way you like it. You want to part your hair more than you usually do. My part is usually a little bit more to the left (my left) than in this picture. But for this hairstyle you want more volume on one side of your head.

Step 4: Brush back the hair from the top of your ear and pin it with some bobby pins. I like to twist it once so it will stay in place more. To get looser curls or waves, you want to lightly brush out your curls

Here's what the end result is! This is great for second day hair if you use some dry shampoo and if you have really long hair this will look fantastic. I'm excited to wear this when my hair gets longer. This does work for straight hair if you are too lazy to curl your hair. Let me know if you like this or if you ever try it! See you next time! XD
