Secrets of Blogging Tag!

Greetings beauty junkies! It feels so nice to be blogging again after a week. My work schedule was a little hectic but I finally have some time to myself. :D But, I was recently tagged by the wonderful Shireen (go check out her blog, she's super sweet) to do the Secrets of Blogging Tag!

1. When did you start blogging and why?
-I would guess I started blogging last year. I'm not totally sure, but you can definitely see my skills progressing since then. I learned how to do my brows because of this blog! As for why, I wanted a place where I could talk about makeup with people who are also passionate about beauty and products. I was a little late on jumping onto the makeup-loving train, but now I'm hooked.

2. How many people in real life know about your blog?
-Only one person. I should probably tell more people but most of my friends aren't into makeup. That's what I have you guys for! XD

3. What are your favorite posts to read?
-I loooove lip product posts. Major lipstick junkie over here! I'm always in the mood for a new lipstick to try out.

4. List a blog you've recently discovered.
-The most recent one I've followed is ANNESUE

5. What post are you most proud of?
-Oh, that's a hard one. I've been trying to get different kinds of content out there so I would say some of my recent ones, I can't choose one specific post.

6. What advice would you give future bloggers?
-Put out content that you would be interested in reading. If you wouldn't be interested in reading it, why would anyone else? And put some personality into your posts, it makes your content stand out compared to everyone else. Be yourself! Have fun with it.

I don't know about you, but tag posts are always fun. What do you think? See you next time! XD

August Ipsy 2014!

Hey cuties! Yay! Another Ipsy bag! If you don't know, Ipsy is a subscription service that costs $10 a moth and you get 4-5 deluxe samples or full sized products.

The theme for this month in Beauty Schooled and the bag looks like a pencil case! Sometimes they give the cutest bags.

1. Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment (sample size): I've been wanting to try this for so long! Everyone talks about how amazing this mud mask is in just one use. The problem is, the full size is $69. So I'm glad I get to try it out if I want to start saving up.
2. Coastal Scents Eyeshadow Sample Set 23 (sample size): These baby eyeshadows are really cute! I was worried I wasn't going to get colors that I would like, but I can make these work. The pigmentation is actually pretty good since I know Coastal Scents is an inexpensive brand.
3. Bee All Natural Grapefruit Lip Balm (full size): I believe everyone got some sort of lip balm this month. I gave this to my mom because she loves both grapefruit and lip balm. I was glad to see it was all natural ingredients and organic.
4. Manna Sheer Glo (sample size): I haven't gotten a highlighter in an Ipy before so I curious to see how it works out. You can use this like a traditional highlighter, mix it in foundation, or your body lotion.
5. Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Pencil in Plushie (sample size): I was seriously going to go out to Ulta to buy this exact eyeliner, the same shade and everything. But now I don't have to! I love this because 1) purple eyeliners are my favorite. 2) Urban Decay eyeliners are fantastic. 3) it's called Plushie, and if you're into Anime, you know what that is.

Okay, that's all for this month's Ipsy! I'm more excited about this month's bag than last month. If you're interested in signing up for ipsy, here is my referal link. See you next time!

Review: Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in OR202 Peach Sugar Cake

Hello everyone! I haven't done a product review in a while. That's because I've been trying to put out different kinds of posts and different content instead of all product reviews. But, sometimes reviews are fun, and I have a fun product for you guys.

First thing's first, lets take a moment to appreciate how cute this packaging is. The outer plastic is almost too adorable to throw out. It's like I ordered a cupcake at a cute little bakery, but it's not a cupcake, it's makeup. I'm not going to eat my makeup.

I couldn't help myself but I had to use this before I took pictures. Bad beauty blogger, I know, shame shame. *slaps wrist* It's just soo hard!

What an All Over Cover is a multi-use product that you can use on your cheeks, eyes, and lips. I got the Peach Sugar Cake color because I thought it would be a pretty cream blush for summer. The texture is very creamy and smooth and blends nicely on the cheeks. But on the lips, it can be a little drying. And this color makes my lips look dead and concealer-y. It's not a cute look. If you can pull it off, go for it. I'm interested in using this as an eye shadow, but this color would be a little hard to work in. I mean, how would you use a peach color eye shadow? I tried it on my lids and it worked well but I feel like I need to experiment more. There is a peachy scent but it's not noticeable unless you stick your nose into the pot. So if you're sensitive to scents, you might want to look out for that.

Overall: This is a great cream blush, but not a good lip color, and a potential eye shadow? I love Etude House and I'm interested in getting some other shades of these All Over Colors. Some of the shades I know I could never pull off but the other shades look promising. What do you guys think of product reviews? See you next time! XD

3 EASY-TO-WEAR ORANGE LIP COLORS

Hey lip junkies! I'm not one to wear bold lips because it kind of scares me (I'm getting better), but oranges are something else. They are the only bold lip color that I feel comfortable in. I know that orange lips are scary to some people so I thought I would help you guys out and give you 3 easy oranges to pull off, and they're all drugstore! Because nothing is worse than coughing up a lot of money on a lipstick that you never wear.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Coralberry: If you like more corals than straight up oranges, Coralberry is still coral but it leans more on the orange side. The formula is very smooth and creamy like most of Revlon lipsticks, but this shade will leave a slight stain on the lips once it's worn off.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya: I loove this lipstick. The little nibblet that you see in the picture is all I have left. This is a sheer orange that will not over power your other makeup. If you want just a wash of color, this is the one to go for. I know that some of the lip butters have shimmer in them, but that's not the case with this shade.

NYX Butter Gloss in Cherry Cheese Cake: Okay, this is a bright ass orange, but it's a gloss so it's going to be in your face, but it's not too much. For those of you who like orange lips, this is a great one because it's pigmented and it feels amazing on the lips.

Sorry I couldn't label the swatches but my photo editing software was being a big butt face and wasn't working. :/ I've never had problems with it before. Anyway, see you next time! XD

Battle of the Bronzers!

Hello everyone! It feels like it's been forever! My camera battery was being a butt face and won't charge no matter what I do to it. I didn't want to do a post without pictures because this is a beauty blog and you guys need to see shades of products and the adorable packaging some brands come out with, right? But I've gotten a hold of my sister's camera and it's not the best quality so you might have to bear with me for a while. :/

Okay! So let's see what we have here. Most of them are matte, a couple shimmery, a few high end, and a couple drugstore. We have a price range from $3 to $30. At first I thought that you needed to invest in a good bronzer because drugstore ones would make you look like an orange. But that's not true! My first bronzer was total crap (I threw it away so I can't include it in this post) but it was like cheeto dust. Just no. There will be no cheeto dust bronzers on this blog! I won't allow it.

1. Benefit Hoola: This bronzer looks like it has been some places and done some things. ;) I bought this with my first paycheck and it was my first good bronzer. Can you tell I like it? It's a cool-toned bronzer that can work for a variety of skin tones. It's great for contouring and I can even use it in the winter. Full review here

2. NYC Bronzer in Sunny: This is a cult favorite drugstore bronzer and let me tell you, it's almost exactly like Hoola but 1/10 of the price. I have to work a little more to get the same affect but it does the job. NYC is a hit and miss brand for me but I suggest that you do your research before you buy.

3. e.l.f. Blush & Bronzer in St. Lucia: I was so surprised to find that this duo is actually really good for $3. There are tiny shimmers running through it but on the face, it's hardly noticeable. I mean, it's not going to be one of those highlighting bronzers. Full review here.

4. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil: Okay, I'm not going to lie, this smells like chocolate and it makes me hungry every time I use it. If you have light-medium to medium skin, then I would recommend this one because it's a little deeper in tone than the Hoola. This is a summer only type of bronzer for me. Full review here

5. Pop Beauty Bronzer in Secret Sunshine: I'm sad to say that this is my only shimmery/highlighting bronzer and I looove that sun kissed, glowy look. This bronzer is a pretty gold shade that can work for many skin tones. If you're lighter then use a light hand but if you're deeper in skin tone then you can build it up. I got this in an Ipsy bag so you can see my post here

The lesson I've learned in all my years of makeup, you don't need to fork up a ton of money to get some better quality products. See you next time! XD
